Join Granville Academy: A Journey of Excellence
Granville Academy, part of Affinity Learning Partnership with schools across Staffordshire and Derbyshire, is on an exciting and ambitious journey to improve standards and outcomes for all students. As one of three secondary academies and four primary academies in the Trust, we are already seeing remarkable progress with exemplary behaviour and headline measures that exceed the national standards.
Creating the Conditions for Success
At Granville, we know that great behaviour forms the bedrock of high-quality teaching and learning. It allows our teachers to focus on delivering exceptional lessons that meet the needs of all students. Our next chapter focuses on continuing to drive high standards of teaching, ensuring that every student achieves the best possible outcomes. Visitors often remark on the welcoming, calm atmosphere of our academy, which creates the ideal environment for teaching and learning to thrive.
We are a dedicated and passionate team, always supporting one another to be our very best. Our collective vision is simple: to ensure every child, regardless of background or ability, has the opportunity to reach their full potential and achieve highly.
Our Values: Hard Work, Kindness, and Wise Choices
At Granville Academy, we believe in working hard, being kind, and choosing wisely. Every day, we have the privilege of making a positive impact on our students’ lives, helping them build brighter futures.
Thriving Maths, English and Science Departments
Our core curriculum is at the heart of this success. Departments are led by strong leaders and supported by an exceptional team of teachers who are delivering results that exceed national averages. Single science entry rates are rapidly increasing with an increased number accessing the higher tier combined entry level with good outcomes.
The most recent GCSE results were above the national average for both 55+ and 44+ with combined science results having an SPI of +0.16. Over 20% of students who sat the single Science Physics qualification achieved a grade 9.
Departments provide a supportive, safe learning environment where teachers are empowered to teach, and students feel confident to learn, make mistakes, and succeed. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside highly skilled professionals in a high-performing department, contributing to our ongoing success, growth and development.
Positive Relationships at the Heart of Everything We Do
One of our greatest strengths is the positive relationships between staff and students. Our academy is a place where everyone is known, valued, and supported. We foster an environment of respect, kindness, and harmony, and we do not tolerate discrimination in any form. We are deeply committed to making sure all students feel they belong and are supported to progress and thrive.
A Strong Sense of Community and British Values
Granville Academy is a key part of the Woodville community, and we take every opportunity to engage with local events and projects, building strong relationships with community stakeholders and external partners. We are also committed to promoting British values such as respect, tolerance, fairness, and inclusivity. Our students are encouraged to make a positive contribution to society, both within the academy and beyond.
