Trust Performance and Assessment Lead

BSC (Hons.) in Agriculture, University of Reading

“Working within a Trust that aligns with my values allows me to work with teams in creating an environment where students feel supported and motivated to reach their full potential. Together, we build strong, positive relationships that inspire students to take ownership of their learning and strive for success, both now and in their future.”

My professional journey began outside education, gaining a degree in Agriculture and then managing a complex agricultural business. In 2002, inspired by having young children and a passion for science and learning, I transitioned into education, completing a PGCE in secondary science at the University of Nottingham.

Since joining The de Ferrers Academy as an NQT in 2004, I have held various roles, including Assistant IBDP Coordinator and the Director of Learning for Science, where I successfully led initiatives to improve student outcomes. Later, as an Assistant Principal, I managed the academy’s timetable and coordinated educational visits, strengthening our commitment to a well-rounded educational experience.

Currently, as Trust Performance and Assessment Lead and Vice Principal for Performance at The de Ferrers Academy, I work closely with Principals and Quality of Education teams across the Learning Partnership to drive improvements and share best practice. My role includes leading comprehensive data tracking and reporting to provide clear performance insights for parents, students, staff, Governors, and Directors. I am particularly focused on faculty performance, overseeing an accountability process that empowers faculty leaders to deliver the best outcomes for our students.
