"Working with schools across Affinity Learning Partnerships allows me to combine strategic coordination with practical operational support—ensuring each academy is in the strongest possible position to provide young people with a positive and impactful education.”

Having lived in Burton-on-Trent all my life, I have deep roots in our local community. I attended The de Ferrers School over 30 years ago, making it particularly meaningful to now contribute to the ongoing success of our Trust.

After graduating from university, I began my teaching career locally and have worked in education for over 25 years. My experience spans senior leadership as a Primary School Headteacher in South Derbyshire, school improvement and advisory work for the Local Authority, Governance, and supporting young people who are Electively Home Educated. These varied roles have given me a broad understanding of the education landscape—from governance and leadership to inclusion and community engagement.

In April 2023, I joined the Trust to work as Governance Manager, working closely with Directors and Local Governors. I strongly believe in the unique value of effective governance—helping guide, support and constructively challenge schools to continuously improve outcomes for young people. This role combined strategic oversight of Trust-wide governance and compliance.

I have recently progressed into the role of Head of Operations, where I work across Governance, IT, Estates and Lettings. I enjoy the breadth and variety this oversight brings, and I am especially focused on ensuring that our academies have the infrastructure, systems and environments they need to thrive. Supporting these operational foundations plays a crucial role in enabling schools to prioritise learning, wellbeing, and long-term success for every student.

Outside of work, I enjoy travelling the country with my husband and our dogs, and I closely follow the highs and lows of Burton Albion Football Club. I am also an avid reader—rarely without a book in hand—and a firm believer in the power of storytelling, curiosity and lifelong learning.
