Richard Wakefield C.E. Primary Academy is a warm and nurturing school where every child is encouraged to shine and achieve their personal best. With over 250 wonderful pupils ranging in age from 4 to 11, our school is nestled in the heart of the picturesque village of Tutbury, just five miles from Burton-on-Trent. We are lucky to have the breathtaking backdrop of historic Tutbury Castle, adding a unique charm to our learning environment.

At Richard Wakefield, every child’s voice matters. Our Pupil Leadership Team takes on meaningful roles, and our active School Council ensures that children help shape decisions about events, charity efforts, and initiatives that promote everyone’s well-being.  We offer a broad and balanced curriculum that sets high expectations for the children and fosters their love of learning.  Our curriculum is enhanced through visits, visitors into school and a wide range of extra curricular activities.
